Pawp - Horrible and disgusting
If you think about getting a company to cover your pets for emergencies... DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT USE PAWP! Maverick had an emergency surgery almost over a month ago. It cost a hefty penny and thank god for Kenzie and her family helping out since this crappy “emergency fund” company is worth nothing. I been paying monthly since I lost Lapua for this and they have the nerve to tell me that in the spur of moment emergency my dogs emergency surgery wasn’t an emergency for them to cover me or at least give me something all because of a video call I could not make due to service at the time but immediately chatted with a specialist while at the vets office. They are telling me because he threw up a couple times 3 hours before that the symptoms happened throughout the day that my dog almost dying and having EMERGENCY SURGERY isn’t an emergency. So I’m suppose to call just cause my dog throws up once or twice because it seems he had a upset tummy so I did what I could to settle that? A dog throwing up isn’t an emergency. My dog barely able to move without puking became the emergency and at that time my mind was set on saving him not a dumb ass video call that would result in the same result as me bringing him to the emergency vet. Whether or not I called or could call, he would have died without ty at surgery. It didn’t matter what your “webcam professionals said” your opinion is more important than a vet in person? An absolute scam of a company. The reps were rude and told me “it’s not my fault you can’t follow rules” so you’re telling me .... this hurricane Ian that happened there’s no service anywhere if my dog had an emergency and I had to take him in and can’t video ... I’m not covered ? Even though I pay you monthly to cover my dog in case of an emergency... pathetic and disgusting of a company! Highly do not recommend!
Pawp - Fatal, false reassurance
The last picture of my dog alive was sent to them. And they still thought the dog was relatively fine, despite a large stomach bloat.
Pawp - Read the fine print and get ready for changes.
I bought this a few months ago because they said that my vet would be paid directly, then they changed to I pay and get reimbursed.
Pawp - You are better off to get an actual pet…
You are better off to get an actual pet insurance. My dog was injured and I communicated with Pawp vet who asked me questions and I answered them. The vet refused to release funds though the injury was big enough and looked inflamed as the doctor confirmed. Note sure if that was deliberate to have me stay and be delayed from giving my dog the care. Still the doctor refused to release funds and told me to seek medical care for my dog in the next 24 hours, which I did. I took my dog the next day to the vet and she needed work up to cut and clean the wound, many stitches and confirmed in a letter to Pawp that it was deep cut. Pawp denied to reimburse me, as I took time to take my dog, because per their vet she was ok and all I had to do is watch her till I take her to the vet next day. They take your money and NEVER reimburse you for any emergency matter!
Pawp - TOTAL SCAM - CAN'T CANCEL
TOTAL SCAM! The office address is a mail drop. The customer service phone is never answered. The chatbot will NOT help you cancel - the "cancel" button is NOT THERE like they show. You can't email billing support; you can't call them; you can't chat with them. YOU CAN'T CANCEL! They just keep trying to hit your card over and over. Buy real pet insurance. Or just take the money and save it. EDIT: AFTER OVER HALF AN HOUR I FOUND THE EMAIL ADDRESS below, and they did fix it in a minute. They sure hide it good!
Pawp - They are not what they advertise
I would normally give Pawp a five but I woke up today to find out that they have completely changed. I have been a member with Pawp since it was just $19 a month. I was covered up to $3000 and had unlimited vet talks about any issues, anytime. I used them a lot; seeing that I have five Dogs. I could reach out day or night. My first disappointment with Pawp is that they no longer pay the emergency bill directly; they now reimburse you just like the other pet insurance (so we know what that means? Red tape and potential denials). The second issue I have is like I stated above; I use to reach out to them day or night for minor to serious issues. This was extremely helpful in avoiding unnecessary visits to the vet. Now it seems that they want me to pay a annual fee of $99 to have access to 24/7 vet support. The third and not such a big deal issue is I went from $19 to $24 a month. I do not mind the price increase for the same coverage cause I loved what they offered and felt it was fair. But $24 a month plus $99 a year is in my opinion unacceptable. I am very disappointed with Pawp. The thing that made them stand out is the $3000 protection. There are a lot of pet parents that do not have that kind of money laying around. Pawp gave us that peace of mind. With Pawp I had no worries that in the event of something serious they would be there with $3000 to help and I would not have to navigate through red tape to cover my Dogs bill. I hope they change back; if not I will be canceling them. Cause if I have to pay upfront then what’s the point of them?
Pawp - Questionable company practices & misleading to clients
Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with this company. I am a huge animal lover and I am also an insurance agent. Initially I wasn’t aware you needed to video call their vet to get approval and the reason I wasn’t aware is because they don’t tell you, however it’s in the fine print, which is A HUGE thing to not tell your clients right off the jump. When I came to them they gave false hope stating they can still possibly provide the coverage as long as the documents I send in show everything that happened for his emergency visit. Well I sent them in extreme detail my dog was hospitalized for 4 days with pancreatitis and after no one answered me for 2 & 1/2 weeks they finally emailed back after threatening the BBB, saying my claim wasn’t accepted since I didn’t video call with their vet. They also stated they had no way to contact me this since they were sent to spam. I find this puzzling since I’ve gotten several emails from them in the past. Not sure why on earth they tell clients to send in paperwork since they can approve it after the fact, knowing they have no intention of doing so. It’s clear now how they make their $ and it’s to avoid paying out claims… all while I’m trying to get ahold of someone via email regarding the status of my claim they made sure to charge me for my monthly fee which is at this point comical they also made sure to tell me they won’t be refunding me that installment. Anything to squeeze out every cent from your clients is not an ethical company the fact that they made sure to tell me they’d see on my claim being approved and then ghosted me for 2 weeks, only to deny the claim the day after they made sure to take my monthly installment. Take this as a sign to sign up with a more reputable A rated carrier that doesn’t have hoops you need to jump through. Just signed up with Lemonade. I’ll be reporting these unethical practices to the insurance commissioner.

Received a free year with T-Mobile but they immediately said it expired and now I will be charged a premium for one year. It was less than a few weeks. I filed with better business bureau. It's worthless. Not real insurance.

Just not comprehensive enough for the money. There are far better options for pet insurance at about the same price
Pawp - They're obviously business first, they don't care about your pet
Just like any other pet insurance company they just take your monthly subscription and never deliver when you're going through tough times with your pet being sick
