State Farm - State Farm Drive Safe & Save - Did you READ the permissions you are giving them by downloading the app?
I decided to give it a try but after downloading the app and reading the permissions and tracking that clicking "I accept" will give State Farm - I just can't do it! = Uninstalled! They can keep their 10% discount!
If you start reading what you're agreeing to, you are giving State Farm access to EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING on your phone including access to your Google accounts, text messages, photos, (24 hours a day 7 days a week whether you are driving or not). You are also giving them permission to do things "on your behalf" (meaning you will be financially liable), like calling a wrecker if the app thinks you've had an accident.
I read enough to decide that it's not for me!
State Farm - Can’t get my State Farm adjuster to call me back
We have a storm damage claim in since June 20th, adjuster came out July 2nd, he sent an estimate and a payment (which we have not yet accepted) on the 3rd. We’ve been trying to get in touch with him since the 7th to no avail (voicemail says he’ll call back within one business day).
What’s my next move?
State Farm - State Farm's Drive Safe & Save doesn't work on the app
Ever since they merged it with the main app, it hasn't worked for me. The tab just says "Something went wrong and we can't display your Drive Safe & Save info right now." How do I get it to work? I just got an email saying I need to complete steps on that tab or else I will lose my discount.
State Farm - State Farm Comp Plan
Is this a good comp plan for State Farm or should I look elsewhere?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been with State Farm for about 3 months now and just recently had my agent finally sit down and go over my compensation plan — something he’s been promising to do since I started. Here’s what it looks like (full document attached):
• Base Salary: $35,000
• Auto/Fire Base Commission: 5%
• Life/Health: 20% of 12-month premium
• PTO: 8 days
• Penalties: $50 deduction off bonus for every incomplete HH checklist
Bonus opportunities:
• Issue 5 life policies → +3% increase on P&C commissions
• Issue 4 health applications → $250 bonus
The issue is, I was also promised the chance to join the Aspirant Program, which was a huge selling point for me — but as time passes, it’s becoming clear that he probably doesn’t have much control over that, and it feels less and less likely it’ll happen.
So, I’m wondering…
Is this a competitive compensation plan for someone in my position? Or should I start looking elsewhere? I’ve got a background in finance and have been putting in real effort here, but I’m starting to feel like this might not be a long-term fit.
Appreciate any insight from others in the industry.
State Farm - State Farm payment cancelled by provider
Navy federal stated the card info was put in inaccurately but I confirmed it 3 times.
Anyone ever been through this ?
Do I really have to wait for a check in the mail now or can I just retry it after they open tomorrow?
State Farm - Canceled joint insurance policy, they sent check in only my brother's name, any way I can cash it?
Hi, I recently canceled my joint insurance policy that was under my brother and i's names. They sent a refund but the check is only in his name, I asked if they could send another check in my name because he's not available to cash it, and they said that his name was the only one on the pay account for the policy even though the policy was in both of our names, so state farm will not issue another check in just my name, or in both of our names. Is there any way for me to cash it? I'm the only one that paid the bill for insurance for 2-3 years using my card, in my name every month. And I think it's a little stupid they won't issue another refund to me specifically, when it's my money being refunded.
Any help or advice at all would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
State Farm - I don't want it to be mine at all no percentage.
Had an accident the other day my insurances says I’m 30% and the other party is 70% so what will I end up paying out? Even though the police said he was 100 at fault. I haven't seen the official Police report yet, not sure if the Police added he was at fault in the report. Hoping he did as even with dash cam it shows him hitting me in between my Drivers front fender and Driver's door which I can't open BTW. How can this be my fault in away.. State of Florida is weird with reports they only gave names and insurance info which the other party gave false information for New York driver.
State Farm - Need advice concerning repairs to a “total loss” vehicle
Hi all,
I am looking for advice regarding my vehicle that was determined to be a total loss from a collision a couple months ago. It’s my first wreck and figuring out what to do every step of the way has been a total struggle. The communication between me, the insurance adjuster, and the shop has been absolutely terrible (with some information intentionally left out, it feels like) and I could use any help I can get. I’m in Oklahoma btw.
A couple months ago my ‘08 Mercury Mariner was rear-ended. Her insurance company, State Farm, determined it to be a total loss and offered me $7000 for the vehicle or $5800 to retain it. The vehicle has sentimental value to me (was my grandma’s car) and only has 64,000 miles on it and since it’s been in the family so long I know its history (NO mechanical problems whatsoever) so I would really like to retain and repair it. The shop that did the estimate provided a quote of $5100 to repair it. The insurance adjuster said the title would be clean if I retain the vehicle. My main question is, if I put the full $5100 into repairing the vehicle and I get hit again, will I get less money from insurance since the vehicle was already a total loss at some point (even with a clean title)? The adjuster said that that wasn’t true but also said the car had to be repaired “back to brand new” which seems like an impossibility/possible loophole that can be used later if there’s another wreck. My brother thinks I should put as little money as possible into it so if I get hit again I can have some of that $5800 to put towards a new car.
Like I said, total idiot when it comes to this kind of thing so any advice or clarification is welcome. Thank you in advance!
State Farm - State Farm Homeowner Claim
Long story short.
Storm came thru Pittsburgh region. Pretty moderate wind and hail damage to roof, windows, screens, gutters and downspouts.
Had 2 adjusters that never called me back.
3rd adjuster scheduled a “ladder assist” inspection.
Had 2 seek now inspections. (Needed a re-inspection since first one was done with a wet roof.)
Adjuster 3 said “I put you in for a full roof replacement”.
2 days later I now have adjuster #4 assigned to my case.
Adjuster #4 states “your old adjuster didn’t have the authority to issue you a full roof replacement, management is disputing your claim, we’re having a engineer come out to your house for an inspection, the hail in your area wasn’t that big in diameter”.
It’s been 40+ days since the storm and I have an interior leak…. They just came out 2 days ago to inspect the inside.
Has this happened to anyone else? What’s my next move?
I have pictures of my roof from September 2024 when I had my chimneys re-pointed with no damage.
Now you can tell I have shingles bent from the storm.
It at a loss on what to do.
Edit #1: 1” hail came thru the area.
Edit #2: Correction to edit #1 - Roof is 10 years old. Looking into weather report now. 1.75” hail in my location. 60mph winds. 1/4 mile away a roof was blown off a grocery store. 4 of my neighbors have already had their roofs replaced.
State Farm - What's the best alternative to State Farm?
I'm shopping around for car insurance. I'm 38F and never had anything but State Farm, but I was rear ended in an accident last year and had a mostly bad experience dealing with customer service and claims. My parents had a life insurance policy for my mother. When she passed away the office somehow marked me as the deceased party, which also lead to me having to "prove" that I was not dead. Keeping in my mind my mother and I share a last name and had our insurances at the same office/broker, but we have completely separate policies. When I told the agent that is what happened, she was combative even though the date of the change corresponded with my mother's death. After my accident, there were significant delays in getting my payment because of some issues they were having with setting up digital payments for me. All around bad experience with customer service and claims who were not empathetic or helpful. When I switched my insurance to a new agent's office for my new car, they put the incorrect financing information on my policy. Had to call several times to change. Realized that they had the wrong mailing address and garage address, even though I had also changed these. I, no joke, had to call on four separate occasions to try to change my garage address. They kept telling me it would be reflected on my policy within a month, but when I checked, my old garage address was still there. Conveniently, my rate at my new address is cheaper.
I will say prior to the past couple years I had great experiences with State Farm. It seems lately to have maybe gone down hill, and I am a pretty dang patient person.
It's not all about price for me either. I'm happy to change to somewhere with better service even if slightly more expensive.
Does anyone actually have a car insurance company they can recommend based on good experiences and/or customer service?
