State Farm - Umbrella coverage; SF discontinuing rental property policy
State Farm is discontinuing the policy for my 3-unit multifamily rental property. My umbrella policy is also with State Farm. My agent told me umbrella will cover the rental property if a new policy I find is A-rated (i.e. by AM best, JD power, etc) and underlying liability limit of $500k is purchased. Is it really true that the new policy for my rental property must be an A-rated insurer? What if it is less than an A-rating or not even rated at all? Insurance is insurance, isn't it? It is becoming extremely difficult to find a good, quality top-rated insurer that will write a new policy for rental property (building) that is 70 years old.
State Farm - [MN] Other party insurance not able to contact their policyholder
A few weeks ago, my car was hit in my workplace parking lot here in Minnesota. I made a police report and got security footage of the incident. While the footage didn’t directly show the other car making contact, one angle captured the only vehicle near mine, and another angle showed my car rocking from the impact.
The police reviewed the footage and agreed that the vehicle likely hit me but noted that we needed to identify the specific car since we didn’t have a license plate. Fortunately, since this happened at my workplace, we were able to find a matching vehicle based on make, model, decals, and wheels. Upon inspecting the suspected car, it had scratches exactly where the damage on my car lined up. While I understand this is circumstantial evidence, it strongly suggests that this is the car that hit me.
I filed a claim with their insurance (State Farm) and provided all the evidence. However, I’ve been calling every other day for updates, and State Farm keeps telling me they haven’t been able to reach their policyholder. At this point, I’m stuck waiting with no progress.
I’m considering small claims court, but that’s really a last resort since I work with this person, and they’re actually my cubicle neighbor. I’d prefer to resolve this through insurance if possible.
For those who have dealt with similar situations—what are my options? Is there anything else I can do to move the claim forward?
State Farm - StateFarm has been increasing my auto premiums
I (live in NJ)have a leased Nissan Rogue 2024. Never been in an accident, have drive and safe enrolled and drive app 10k miles a year max never missed a payment. They've gone up from $89 to $120 in 6 mnths flat. Feels like this is getting a bit out of hand..
Is anyone else facing this and can someone suggest alternatives or suggestions?
State Farm - claim on house with state farm
adjuster trying to say a hail storm a week after wind storm (prior hail was photographed 3 weeks ago) would require a double deductible. is this common practice with state farm trying to get out of paying even half of what it costs for a new roof
State Farm - Like a horrible Neighbor State Farm SUCKS
My first mistake was insuring through state farm.
My second mistake was using one of the preferred shops that state farm recommends.
My liftgate had a dent covering 40% of the area of the surface plus it was bent on the inside frame.
State farm insist they can repair this by bending the panel back in place and filling with bondo. This is the worst way to fix this door, but State Farm doesn't care they just want a cheap repair.
STATE FARM IS NOT A GOOD NEIGHBOR - THEY ARE VERY DECEPTIVE AND WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR CAR REPAIRS THEY WILL SCREW YOU BIG TIME.
State Farm - Car is totaled, no fault accident
I was involved in an accident where a truck ran a red light and hit me. Their insurance totaled my car. I feel the offer they are willing to pay me for the total loss of my car is low balled. Is there any room for negotiating with insurance companies or do I have to accept what they offer? Anyone have experience with in this matter. The insurance is State Farm.
State Farm - Statefarm's "This is not a bill" doesn't match actual bill?
Every six months I get a big envelope from Statefarm with all my car insurance details and prices. It also comes with a bunch of small booklets, think they are called "endorsements". Anyways the one I got said I would owe around $350 . It also says "This is not a bill".
Now today I got my bill electronically. But it says I owe $450+. Unfortunately, I recycled the original paper bill that said I should owe $350. Was that $350 likely for some shorter duration? I did remove something from my insurance a few weeks ago so maybe they sent me some pro-rated amounts?
State Farm - State Farm customer service line connects me to someone having a random conversation?
I go through the prompts, I get connected to someone, and I just hear a conversation between two people talking about random things that I can barely make out. They don’t respond to me so I hang up and try again, same thing. What is actually going on? Do customer service reps just answer and then ignore people so they’ll hang up?
State Farm - Lease termination from landlord 2 days notice
Location: Southern California, USA
My roommate and I had a year fixed lease in a 2b/2b, ending summer 2025.
A month ago I discovered a leak coming from the wall in my closet. Landlord brought plumbers to check it out, they opened the wall a bit and discovered cracked pipes. The next week I was asked to leave for 2 weeks for repairs, in which I used renters insurance to cover my hotel (waiting on reimbursement still, but it should be coming).
After the 2 weeks, landlord couldn’t get a response from HOA on when the repair would be completed. Landlord suggested I break my lease and move since she wasn’t sure about the timeline (pipes only impacted my room, not my roommates). While trying to figure out my plans, she sent my roommate and I a text on Friday (3/28) afternoon that she is terminating our lease due to mold, and we need to be out by Wednesday (4/2) or sooner - she offered to reimburse March rent and give us $600 each for the inconvenience.
Any advice on 1) is she allowed to do this and 2) how we can get more money or time? 2 business days is such short notice to make arrangements and the cost to move will be more than $600
TLDR: landlord terminated lease due to mold, have to be out in 2 business days. I haven’t been able to live there for all of March
State Farm - State Farm denying homeowners insurance
Is anyone else having trouble getting State Farm to insure your house for homeowners insurance? I have a fixer upper house with a pool and we fixed the gates and cleaned up around the pool area but the pool hasn't been used in years. Tried multiple times to get homeowners insurance but keep denying.
