Spot - If I could give them a ZERO
If I could give them a ZERO, I would.
My pup, like many pups have swallowed items.
At just 8 months old to the day, she had a bowl obstruction. I had taken her to the vet a few weeks earlier and they found NOTHING, but also the vet is to be blamed as they should have suggested an ultrasound. I submitted my receipts for reimbursement, and SPOT told me that it was a "preexisting" condition. IT WAS NOT, it was perforated intestines and an obstruction. I ended up having to put our 8-month old puppy down, because the emergency vet said that there was NO guarantee of saving her. Thanks SPOT for nothing!!!
Spot - The policy terms and what is covered…
The policy terms and what is covered are not clear. For example flea and heartworm preventive is only covered at $25 per year not per treatment. The website states no waiting period that is wrong. My first claim was denied because they stated my policy was not active yet. I have had 5 claims submitted and only 3 paid. Not worth the money. I will not be renewing my policy. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
Spot - SCAM
They refuse to cover ANYTHING and will blatantly lie and gaslight you when you try to confront them about anything. They told me my cat had "never received a dental cleaning" even though it was CLEARLY in his claims records that he has one before. They just adamantly denied it and said "well you can try to appeal if you want". They are a SCAM.
Spot - I am disappointed with the low pay out…
I am disappointed with the low pay out for my dogs vet bills.
Spot - I don't recommend this insurance
I don't recommend this insurance. They cover absolutely nothing. Let's do the math here. I paid vet 442.24. I got the insurance with 80 percent reimbursement. I also added dental and wellness care. I pay $162. 71 a month to Spot insurance. They reimburse me $100. If I'm paying Spot $162 then pay vet $442.24 and got $100 back why do I need this insurance???? The one I had before them were 10 times better. The reason I switched insurance was because that insurance was for one specific veterinarian office you couldn't go anywhere else so that office would always be understaffed and didn't have availability to see my babies and had to pay other outside cost. I was extremely disappointed with this insurance. So no it's not worth paying $162 every month and my dogs aren't sick thank God I feed them fresh food but they do need shots for allergy season heart worth dental and check ups. Just in case of an accident it's smart to have insurance but not this one. The other insurance the payment was about $11 more but they paid majority of the vet bills. No question asked. Spot wanted past medical records that wasn't asked when you first apply which would been more understandable. I cancelled immediately. I went to another insurance this time I'm gonna talk to an agent before getting insurance.
Spot - If you’re considering Spot for your kitten, please be aware that the plan does not fully cover the basic preventive care
📍 Spot Pet Insurance – Kitten Plan (Advanced + Routine Care)
My experience with Spot Pet Insurance started off well. The first claim I submitted after my kitten’s initial vet visit was processed smoothly, and I received reimbursement as expected.
However, during the second round of vaccinations, I was disappointed to learn that the kitten plan does not fully cover the recommended vaccine schedule, even with the Routine Care add-on. As a responsible pet owner, I followed my vet’s guidance, only to find out that Spot only reimburses certain vaccines — and only once per year — with very limited amounts.
To make matters worse, I’ve been trying to reach their support team for over 3 days with no response.
Today I finally called and spoke to a representative, who informed me that there’s nothing the company can do — even though this limitation is not clearly disclosed on their website or in the policy documents. Nowhere does it say how many vaccine shots are eligible per year for a kitten.
⚠️ If you’re considering Spot for your kitten, please be aware that the plan does not fully cover the basic preventive care you might reasonably expect, even with them selling this special coverage for it, and the lack of clear communication and customer support is a serious concern.
Spot - Decent pet insurance
The amount covered by spot for yearly vaccinations is fairly low. The amount that’s covered by insurance only saved me very little from the vet bill I had for my puppies vaccine and yearly check up. Soot doesn’t give much for neutering my dog and nothing from my last vet visit went to my deductible. So I do wonder what the point of having pet insurance is right now
