Delta Dental - Does anyone else have Delta Dental and getting spammed with emailed verification codes?
Sorry, not sure where else to post this. I tried calling Delta Dental but they are closed.
I keep getting emailed a verification code from Delta Dental at least every hour. Happening to anyone else with Delta Dental?
Not sure if someone’s trying to hack into my account and is requesting verification codes (I’ve already changed my password and it’s still happening)
Blue Cross - Marketplace dental coverage that doesn’t really exist
Location, North Carolina
Our family has a marketplace health plan with Blue Cross. It includes free dental for children under 18. I bought a marketplace dental insurance for my husband and I but didn’t include the kids because they had the free dental on the health plan.
I have been trying to make dental appointments for the kids, and of course, there is a very limited number of dentists on the list that are in network. I have called a couple to make appointments and I keep getting told the same story. Blue Cross completely ghosts the dental office when they try to submit claims so the dentists won’t bother billing them anymore.
If I had known this, I would have just added the kids to the dental policy I purchased for my husband and myself. Of course open enrollment is over so it’s too late now and they haven’t really had a change in circumstance except that their coverage only exists on paper and is impossible to use. Now my only option is to pay out-of-pocket for their dental care.
Anyone else experienced this? What are my options?
Progressive - Is my car toast?
Someone hit my car. Air bags went off on one side and bumper poked the radiator. Bumper and hood are crumpled but it doesnt look like anything else is damaged. No broken glass, and I can see under the hood and everything else is fine. Its a 2019 but good mileage and was in perfect condition prior. Filed insurance claim. It was the other personsfaultbut of course they didnt have insurance. Realistically what is the outcome? Weve had progressive for years. No claims for atleast 5 years.
Edit: sorry 2019 Jeep Cherokee
ICBC - Insurance advice
My car was damaged and repaired at an ICBC accredited shop. I got my vehicle back and immediately noticed it wasn't repaired correctly. I couldn't bring it back to the first shop again because I immigrated to the USA.
ICBC allowed me to bring it into a Nissan dealership in the US to have it repaired. The damage was done to one side of my vehicle- the control arm and strut were damaged. Nissan repaired BOTH sides of my control arm and struts because they said it was needed so the car would drive correctly.
ICBC is now saying they'll only pay for the one side of repair where the damage was done- saying they're only responsible for repairing the damage.
Is this true? I thought they'd be responsible for insuring the car was drivable again.
Allstate - Insurance trying to charge me rental?
Background: my car was hit in a parking lot 2 months ago. The auto body shop determined car is not repairable. Allstate claims it is. DOI complaint has been filed and I proceeded with claim with my own insurance company. Now Allstate wants me to pay them back for the rental they were providing. Is this allowed? Can they charge me??
Nationwide - Pet insurance
So…I’ve had Nationwide for my Yorkie since I got him. For five years. They paid 90% which I think is exceptional. In fact, they’ve stopped that practice! He’s had pancreatitis twice, allergies and other expensive issues. Today I received a notice I was being cancelled. I feared it as the bills have been very high. My question is…Now What?? What recommendations do you have? Will a new company accept pre existing conditions? Who pays out the best and the fastest? I appreciate all thoughts! TIA
SBMA - Does Minimal Essential Coverage not cover bloodwork?
Hi!
I took the SBMA MEC for just about a few months in late 2024 with a new job I started.
I went to the doctors on November 12th and also received bloodwork but later I received a bill for $2000 for the bloodwork and $1265 for the Physician Office Visit.
I am wondering if Minimal Essential Coverage doesn’t cover basic bloodwork?
Last I was told, Labcorp was waiting to hear back from SBMA for covering the services but I guess the insurance never got back to them and I’m stuck with this bill :/ I will be contacting SBMA again and also Labcorp to see what I can do.
Insurance Company - Why is my home contractor getting my depreciation?
Hi all. I'm confused and a little suspicious.
Long story short, had a tree fall and cause damage last year. Work is done, and the invoice came to roughly $65k (Siding + roof for garage and house). Insurance gave me roughly $62k, however I opted for a higher quality siding than the basic, so $3k was coming out of my pocket. That invoice is paid in full.
For the main structure (house):
RCV is 49k
ACV is 42k
So there's about 7k Dwelling Recoverable Depreciation that is available. However, my insurance rep is making that 7k as a payment to a sub-contractor that I've never heard of and in the email stated that the 7k is going to my contractor.
Why are they getting 7k more when I've already paid the invoice? I'll push back on the payment but I want to go in with facts but I can't seem to wrap my head around it. I've asked the question to my insurance rep 4 days ago but she hasn't responded. Can anyone ELI5 what exactly is going on or am I getting bamboozled?
Thanks!
