I have been with Healthy Paws for 8 years, first in CA and now WA. I made very claims until the last year where I submitted monthly arthritis shots ($80) and one urgent care visit ($717) and not much before that. My dog turns 13 this month and they raised my policy from $140 a month to $626. This is outrageous and they know you can not switch a 13 year old dog to anyone else but it doesn't matter cuz I am dropping them. What kind of insurance takes your money for 8 years and then drops you? I am sorry to all my friends that I referred you to them because of positive experiences.

Terrible company. The vet was average. I signed up because they said they had weekend appointments and then couldn’t get an appointment until Wednesday. I could’ve gotten an appointment with my regular vet by that time. My dog had an eye infection and the online vet just prescribed something

Currently dealing with lemonade for a renters insurance claim. When I purchased there insurance I was hopeful that they would have the same industry standards as the big guys... not even close. Communication is non existent. Filed going on a month ago and have only gotten 2 emails weeks apart from my adjuster. Thats it. And calls to speak to supervisor twice was told they would call me within 24/48 business hours.. still waiting on those calls weeks later. I had a theft happen and although I have reciepts for most items they are refusing to do anything for a lot of my smaller items that most people dont save reciepts for like makeup and clothes. Even tho it's not a large amount just a small amount of each. They are saying the only way the will cover ANY items is if I have reciepts, online order forms or pictures with me wearing said items. As someone who hates pictures greatly and who was gifted the clothing for my bday and xmas neither of there options are available for me to provide. And they won't budge at all. Even tho there website states they understand not everyone keeps every single reciept and that they mainly want reciepts for items $250 and over that statement is so misleading. It says your adjuster will go over with you how to deal with proof for those items. When all they do is tell you you have to have a reciept or pictures wearing those things. Doesn't make any sense. And never would have gone thru them if we had known they would do everything they could to lower the amount of our claim.
MetLife Pet Insurance - Abysmal
Overall, I am extremely unhappy with MetLife Pet Insurance policies and service. The only reason I have stayed on this insurance plan is because if I switch to another provider anything that is currently covered under MetLife policy will be considered pre-existing under a new plan.
Dutch Pet Insurance - BEWARE appointments can be for NIGHTTIME!
Update: they did give me a refund and canceled my membership before no show fees for the nighttime appointment were added. I will update if I never see that refund. If I could have gotten ahold of someone immediately besides the vet saying they’d see us at 11:20 at night or I’d get a no show I probably would rate higher. You should be able to talk to someone immediately with an issue like scheduling! 11:20pm Vet appointments are not normal!!! This is a very easy miss for anyone! Thankfully we kept our local one just incase.

Filed a claim on June 26, 2025 for vet visit on June 25th. After multiple notes to the vet and myself sending detailed notes still no answer from claims. I called last week and was promised swift process and still nothing. I pay big $$ for an 8 year old cat and the vet visit was under $300.00. I will give them until Friday, 5 weeks post filing claim and if no decision I will file a BBB and Elderly fraud alert. Our vet recommended Embrace so I will let them know the outcome.

Better retrain your reps and supervisors about telling people the truth. I called five times and received five different answers. Reps are rude. You wait a long time to get answers. Totally unacceptable. Where did customer service go?

They overcharge for premums once your dog turns a certain age, forcing you to cancel and then leave you with nothing for your pet. Disgraceful!
