Progressive - Applying out of pocket costs towards a deductible?
Windshield had some severed cracks that started to spider out and had to be fully replaced/recalibrated.
Before having it fixed, I filed a claim with my insurance company (progressive). My claim was denied as I hadn’t yet met my comprehensive deductible and didn’t have glass coverage at the time. I added the glass coverage a couple weeks after the claim was denied to make sure I’m covered in future events.
I finally saved up enough to have the windshield replaced and recalibrated just this week.
My question: Is the amount I paid out of pocket for this replacement eligible to go towards my comprehensive deductible for any future issues?
My biggest concern is that I just don’t want it to look like I’m trying to commit insurance fraud by submitting a second claim for the same thing after just adding the glass coverage.
Appreciate any help.
Figo - Figo renewal going up 40% this year?
Is anybody else's Figo insurance going up 40% in 2025? My rate is going from $425/yr to $700/yr. I reached out to Figo and they blamed inflation of all things, saying nothing could be done about the price. I was told Figo was one of the better companies by all my pet owner friends & family, but they have never covered a claim and at these rates it would be cheaper for me to just put aside $50/mo. Really frustrated and looking for advice.
Progressive - Do I need a Lawyer to get payment from an uninsured driver?
Location: Oklahoma
Long story kind of short,
I was in a car accident on Oct.4th, and the other party was at fault. At the scene they acknowledged they were at fault and their insurance looked up to date. At the moment, I felt that calling the police for a report was not worth the hassle, a mistake I know now. While at the scene the driver was on the phone with their mother and told them they were on their phone at the time of the accident, which she later denies. Additionally the drivers mother wanted to speak to me on the phone and was very adamant not to go through insurance and that they wanted to pay out of pocket, which I refused, I didn't think much of this comment in the moment but is important later.
I filed a claim with the insurance they provided and a few days later they told me they were not insured at the time of the accenet. My father reached out to the drivers father as he is the person on the title of the vehicle, and this is when we found out the drivers father is the Chief of Police for a small town bordering my city where the crash occurred which is in the same county. At this point we were given updated insurance from the driver and I made the claim with their insurance, which was denied as they were denying what happened at the crash. Some context to add to this is that this was a new driver and had their license for only about a month and were 16 and were heading to their first day of work at their new job.
I filled with my insurance who sent it to arbitration, and it was radio silence for 4 months and they would not even return my calls, thanks Progressive. I called today and told them I need an update today, and the new rep I got was amazing and told me everything I needed to know and they should have told me months ago.
Arbitration determined the other party was at fault, which was obvious from the damage, and they were not insured at the time of the crash. So it turns out they tried to buy insurance right after the crash and did not tell anyone.
Progressive wants to send them to collections to get some of my deductible back, but I would like to get my full deductible and loss of value (at the minimum). So my question is is small claims court enough for the $2k deductible and $2k loss of value, and do I need a lawyer? I have already waited 6 months, and while if I need a Lawyer I want them to get paid, but I feel like I shouldn't have to pay legal fees for this especially due to the criminal behaviour on their part.
Geico - Geico going up again!!

the at-fault driver's insurance - How to File a Small Claims Case for Mini-Tort in Michigan?
I was involved in a car accident in Michigan, and the at-fault driver’s insurance denied my mini-tort claim because they don’t have mini tort coverage. I still have out-of-pocket repair costs ($1,000), and I want to file a small court claims case against the at-fault driver.
I have the **police report**, repair estimates, and insurance denial letter as evidence.
**My questions** ❓
1. **How do I file a small court claims lawsuit in Michigan?.**
2. **What court do I file in—where the accident happened or where the driver lives?.**
3. **How do I serve the at-fault driver properly?.**
4. **What happens if they ignore the lawsuit or refuse to pay after a judgment?.**
5. **Has anyone successfully won a mini-tort case in small claims court?.**
Any advice or experience would be really helpful! Thank you!
Aviva - Looking to get a fleet policy for 4 cars
Firstly I appreciate any insight into this matter as it can be a minefield I know!
I’m looking to insure myself (m34) and partners (f30) 4 vehicles, we reside on a non working farm in West Yorkshire but will soon be moving to a similar setup in north wales.
Could anyone recommend a solid company to go with please?
Also open to the possibility of becoming a Ltd company once we move as we will be running a small business from the farm if that helps the situation at all.
we have dealt with aviva in the past and they have always been a struggle when it comes to claims.
Thanks 🙏
State Farm - State Farm Issues
So I signed up for State Farm Auto/Renters insurance and all was well. I decided to switch agents because I was not happy with the communication speed I had with the old agent, so i submitted an Agent Change request online.
It has been more than a month since the original request and only the Renters Policy moved. The requests show complete, but now I noticed my Auto Policy completely disappeared from my account.
Did they mess this up and cancel my policy? I haven’t gotten any emails or documents online stating this. This has been so frustrating and I just want to not have a lapse in coverage for their mistake.
Has anyone dealt with this or something similar?
PetsBest - PetsBest
How long does it usually take for PetsBest to reimburse you? For some reason, it says that my payment date was April 3, but I haven’t received anything
Ameriprise Financial - Have a Roth IRA with Ameriprise Financial, starting to think I should move it. Advice needed.
When I turned 18, my dad made my start a Roth IRA with Ameriprise because I had an unexpected source of income coming in that he wanted me to put away. Well, since then I have continued to put money into that account and I talk to my FA semi-regularly. Well, I am now 22M and going to be making some real money soon and after some research, I see a lot of people saying to avoid FA for a Roth, especially Ameriprise. I am glad my dad had me do this when I was 18 but now I am wondering if I should move my Roth to something else. For full disclosure, I have put in $19,000 total, and it has grown about $4,000 in that last 4 years or so.
However, I do not really know where to begin.
Should I move my Roth away from Ameriprise?
How would I move my Roth?
Where do I move my Roth? I have seen mentions of Vanguard, Fidelity, Schwab and others. How would I choose one? Don't services like these also charge some sort of fee?
Thank you so much for the help.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas - I got quoted a wrong deductible and copay information. What rights do I have?
I got diagnosed with sleep apnea and I was delaying my treatment because I found out that its very expensive. After a few months, the cpap company based in Houston, TX reached out again that my deductible has been met and I just owe 171$ and then insurance will take the charges.
After I started my sleep apnea treatment, I got the call again from the medical company that they made a mistake on their end and the benefit information was not correct. So now, they are asking me to pay 45$ for supplies and 65$ for cpap rental every month till the payments are complete. I am just a loss of what the hell is this!
I get screwed up and left with more charges for a treatment which was quoted wrongly to me. I called Blue Cross Blue Shield OF TX and they said they cannot help me.
My current insurance is ending in one month and I am changing insurance from next month. So, it doesn’t make sense why pay deductible towards an insurance which will not be there in 30 days.
What are my rights?
