Have an issue with your insurance?
Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.

Nationwide - My puppy is 10 weeks old has a UTI
My puppy is 10 weeks old has a UTI. They’re charging me over $100 a month and are restricting anything that has to do with kidneys, bladder or anything like that into the insurance.
Ridiculous
Embrace - Horrible website
Horrible website. Claim submission process is ridiculous. 4 tries to submit a claim. get your website act together please
Nationwide - I haven’t heard back yet
I haven’t heard back yet - soooo… how could I possibly give a positive review?
Nationwide - Nationwide is no longer on our side.
My insurance was abruptly canceled for my 5 year old dog on 5/1/25. For five years, I never missed a payment. My dog never required expensive medications or surgeries. Nationwide was unable to provide me with a reason. They told me I had to reapply for insurance; my dog now has pre-existing conditions. Our re-application was rejected. This is incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I would advise against any policy with this company as they will screw you over any way they can. It is laughable that they sent me this email asking for a review.
Healthy Paws - Flat out refuses to respond to the only…
Flat out refuses to respond to the only claim i sent in during the last four years. Just filed a claim w branch of California government that oversees insurers. Changing to costco pet insurance.
Trupanion Canada - A Zero Rating
Update June 15:
Trupanion did not cover any of the costs associated with my dog's illness. Then they followed up with reducing the amount they were paying for her Invertebrate Disease because I had rehab (not paid by Trupanion) for her elbow and knee. Trupanion decided that my holistic treatment "could" have also be treated for the Invertebrate Disease and reduced the amount. Finally, to top it off, they increased my premium with 2 weeks notice, They claimed that they sent me an update, but somehow, I didn't receive the email notice. How on earth did they know that I hadn't received the email? If you want to be treated horribly after paying premiums for over 14 years, then you may want to consider Trupanion. Otherwise, you have many other options now - you should exercise those options.
If I could write a zero review I would. My 14 year old dog has been with Trupanion since she was 10 weeks old in 2011. We rarely had any claims until she reached about 12 years old. After paying our premiums for over 14 years, Trupanion is now taking almost 4 weeks to review a claim for a condition that has been covered for over 2 years. Our premium was also increased as our claims increased and when we appealed Trupanion’s decision to apply a deductible when it had already been paid for the same condition.
MetLife - Routine denial of claims for no legitimate reason
We adopted two kittens, brothers, at the same time, with the same completely clean medical history. They soon showed symptoms of parasites (almost certainly from the adoption facility they were in). One of their claims was approved and the other was denied, citing a "pre-existing condition". We ended up needing to spend over $10K on emergency vet services to keep our little boy alive and MetLife covered exactly none of it, due to this supposed "pre-existing condition". We would've saved more money and headache by foregoing the insurance altogether.
Spot - Took my dog to the vet and did a claim…
Took my dog to the vet and did a claim they sent it too the vet they had to cancel that check and still waiting for the check I called them and their stating that they have too reissued me another check
Embrace - No clarity
There's no clarity as to why some invoices are accepted and why others are not. It always says that I have maxed out of my benefits. I find this very confusing.
Embrace - First-time user putting in a claim
First-time user putting in a claim. It seems redundant to repeat the diagnosis when it is in the receipt.
