ASPCA Pet Insurance - My doggie was having routine dental…
My doggie was having routine dental cleaning. During this procedure, vet called and recommended several teeth to be extracted. This was the 1st occurrence that the vet recommended extraction. We had other dental cleanings before this. Vet would call me back within minutes to provide me with extent of surgery and fees. While waiting for vet, I immediately called ASPCA insurance. The rep was extremely kind. She looked at our plan and said since it was the first time having procedure (extractions) that we have a $250 deductible and then our plan would pay 90% up to $3000.00. Submitted claim for $2300.00. When claim was processed it was for only $1000.00. Called and spoke to rep at ASPCA. ASPCA obtained something called SOAP notes from vet office. ASPCA determined that there was a note in 2018 , 6 years ago, that the doggie had a note of dental build up . tarter on teeth. We provide complete vet check up every 6 months with the same facility. When I called to verify why the difference in reimbursement amounts, 50% vs 90%, I was told the 90% would have only happened in 2018, even though it wasn't medically necessary or advised by vet. Now would only be eligible for one time reimbursement of $1000.00 under continuing care. Somehow this doesn't seem right. Would request further explanation for this reasoning of denial of 90% of fees.
Figo Pet Insurance - They get 0/10
Poor customer service along with lack of complete explanations for claims process. They will dismiss as they see fit regardless of your pets need. Totally pointless policy thus taking money from clients with no benefits provided. They get 0/10 with the total allowance of 5% towards deductible after more than 1K out of pocket. Updated 10/22/24 Auto response shows continued lack of customer care/support.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - at first i didnt like this insurance…
at first i didnt like this insurance because i felt like i as spending money on the insurance. it didnt seem to pay off. Everything i submitted was being rejected. I felt like it wasnt being off, thats why i bought cat insurance to helped out when most needed. Evenually i guess i paid the maximum amount so it started paying off. Even if paid alot out pocket for my dusty it was worth it but having insurance for him was a blessing. Now i can keep trying for cat to live a little bit more,
Pawp - There is no telephone number to contact…
There is no telephone number to contact Pawp. I canceled my membership and was still charged the next day for a year membership. I have no way of contacting Pawp to receive my $99 dollars.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - This is the worst pet health insurance…
This is the worst pet health insurance I have ever had. Every single time I file a claim, they say it is pre-existing. For instance, my horse had a cut on her butt. She also had a cut on her chest. Neither of these were tracked by a vet ever before the day of treatment. They said that because she had a cut in two places, she was ineligible for coverage.
Dutch Pet Insurance - NEVER would I use this service
NEVER would I use this service. The vets are decent enough but they do TEN minute appointments which is not enough to discuss anything - even something as simple as flea meds (what we were trying to get) Then I was rudely disconnected. Once you actually get a prescrption (they won't send you one - they insist on "transferring" the script if you have say a Petco or someplace where you just wanted to pick it up. The "transfer" will take 2-5 business days - so this PUSHES you to order through Dutch - and they aren't as cheap as Petco - for recurring orders you get up to a 30 discount at Petco - nothing through Dutch. You also cannot message back the vet you spoke to - you cannot speak to a live person AT ALL, There is no one available in "customer service" on the weekends that is anything but a basic phone operator. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance - Pet insurance are scammy
Pet insurance are quite scammy. I notice that the more people buy these insurance, the more expensive Vet bills become. And on top of that, smaller Vets are getting bought up by private equity companies, and now prices are controlled by profit margins. I had a policy for my dog for nine years, and four years in, the premiums almost doubled. And nothing claimed. The longer you have the insurance, it seems the terms and conditions change for the benefit of the insurance companies.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - Claim denied…
My claim was denied for my dog because she had the same problem last year- she was having trouble with her hind legs At that time, the neurologist wanted to do an mri on her spine but I could not afford the $6000 bill because she was having dental surgery, which also cost 💲 6000 . I finally was able to get the mri done this year and ASPCA insurance will not pay a single dime of the bill since she saw the doctor last year for this problem.
Figo Pet Insurance - Don’t bother
They don’t listen, they don’t care if you’ve had a bad experience; I would not recommend them. I filed a claim after my pet passed away last year and it took 2 1/2 weeks for Figo to decide that my claim was not covered. After asking them why it had taken so long for them to figure this out, I got no response. During that 2 1/2 weeks, they were constantly emailing me and calling me to ask me for more information (meaning I had to talk about the death of my pet over and over and over) and they were calling my vet’s office to ask for more information. None of us could figure out what they needed. In the end, it wasn’t covered (why didn’t they just tell me that in the first place?) and I was out that money anyway. Total waste of time and money.
ASPCA Pet Insurance - The math isn’t mathing…
My teacup yorkie was surrendered to me in May with a pre-existing condition (broken bone) which already knew they can’t do anything about. Got this insurance in July specifically for wellness checks, shots, and dental cleanings. The extras I pay monthly are a plus.Took my teacup yorkie in Sept for a dental cleaning only. Went ahead and had his vet do a fecal test, got his Trio (flea, tick, and heartworm chew) along with some other things I knew that “were covered” with his plan that I chose with add-ons. Almost $900 paid up front. My plan’s Deductible is $100 and 90% reimbursement. Submitted the claim. In the EOB they put in there under “accident and illness” they tried to contact the vet to get info on him from sept 2023 to now. I didn’t have that info but he wasn’t sick nor was he there for an accident. I called the previous owners got the info and added that info to my claim…. I got way less than 90% of the almost $900 paid up front. Somebody make it make sense.
