Fetch Insurance - Fetch pet insurance
Hey guys, im soon to be getting a golden retriever puppy and i need some help with pet insurance. Ive narrowed it down to fetch insurance because theyre the most affordable without the worst reviews.
I have seen some chatter about them denying claims but since im registering my pup at less than 8 weeks i figure that they cant deny due too some bs like "previous conditions". Am i naive for thinking that?
I was quoted $120 a month for an annual payout of $15000, annual deductable of $300, and reimbursement rate of 90%. Let me know if you think that i should adjust these values as i picked the highest cost options across the board. Still $40 dollars cheaper than trupanion lol.
I am also considering the wellness plans but im not too sure of the value. Could you guys weigh in on if i'll actually need all of these things done every year and if i'll save money with it?
The annual "savings" are $735 for all that stuff listed but the annual cost of the plan is $563.52, so i'll really only be saving like $170 bucks for the most expensive plan if i understand correctly. There seems to be alot of bloat but ive never had a dog before so who knows.
I live in Canada if that matters, thanks guys.
Travellers - Condo liability question help?
Here's the situation:
**The unit below me reported ongoing water damage on their ceiling/wall.** The building paid a plumber to do an investigation. After many hours, they were able to determine there was water coming from my toilet.
I brought in my own plumber and he figured out there was a leak inside the wall where the toilet connects to the pipe (its a wall mount toilet and the gasket wasn't forming a tight seal with the pipe). This toilet pre-dates my ownership, if that matters. I had him fix it and paid him.
Obviously the apartment below has repair costs. I immediately engaged a claim with my homeowner policy provider (Travellers), sent them the plumbers reports (both mine and the building), the by-laws of the building, and put my insurance in touch with the owners of the below unit.
Fast forward, after some research, **my claim person says 'I'm not liable because there was no way for me to know about the leak, so the owners of the below unit should file with their insurance'** It is true there was no visible leak or damage in my apartment.
Now the unit below me sent me an estimate from their contractor and says 'As you’ll see, they have denied the claim, stating there was “no evidence of neglect” on your part. **Given the damages I sustained, I need to understand how you intend to address this situation and take responsibility for the repairs.**' It's not clear if they've filed with their insurance. The husband and wife don't always seem to be on the same page.
They are claiming repairs cost $30,000! I don't know how much of this is really related to the damage, as they are also in the midst of a major reno and might be using this to pay for some of that on the sly. I don't have a relationship with them. To clarify the leak was a long slow drip, which only occurred when the toilet flushed, which is why it took so long for the building plumbers to track down.
Regardless, it seems weird to me that the insurance judges I'm not liable, just because I couldn't know about the problem. Especially since the policy seems to explicitly cover damage from water seepage where the insured is unaware because its hidden in a wall (in the DOES NOT COVER section for liability it says: CONTINUOUS OR REPEATED SEEPAGE OR LEAKAGE OF WATER OR STEAM OVER A PERIOD OF TIME, WEEKS, MONTHS, OR YEARS, FROM WITHIN A PLUMBING, DRAINAGE, HEATING, AIR CONDITIONING,SYSTEM OR AUTOMATIC FIRE PROTECTIVE SPRINKLER SYSTEM OR FROM WITHIN A HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE **UNLESS SUCH SEEPAGE OR LEAKAGE OF WATER OR STEAM AND THE RESULTING DAMAGE ARE UNKNOWN TO ALL insureds AND ARE HIDDEN WITHIN THE WALLS OR CEILINGS OR BENEATH THE FLOORS OR ABOVE THE CEILINGS OF A STRUCTURE**).
**Right now I'm waiting for response from my insurer and also the apartment below** (to see if they have filed with their insurer and if that insurer is in contact with mine). Up until now my interactions on this issue with the apartment below have been pretty even tempered, but their latest email feels like they are escalating and I'm concerned I might even need a lawyer (I live in NYC btw).

Progressive - Car hit backend of our 2020 Honda CRV progressive insurance will not pay much for inherit diminish value
UnitedHealthcare - Question about needing a referral for healthcare to see a specialist
I have pathology reports from Hospital A that I received under a charity care arrangement. They are for dermatology. The reports revealed skin cancer and I needed surgery, but the hospital fused to allow me to use their charity care for the surgery
I might be taking a low wage job to try and get private employer group PPO health benefits. But the plan would be with UHC. If I already have the biopsy reports showing biopsy #1, biopsy #2, biopsy #3, biopsy #4 are basal cells and they require Mohs surgery, do I still have to wait months to set up an appointment with a dermatologist and then WAIT for a referral to see a Mohs specialist?
Forget about the prior dermatologist who did the biopsies. He works for a large healthcare system that won't allow him to refer me outside of their network.
If I literally have the pathology biopsies, can't a potential UHC in-network Mohs surgeon's office use that? Or does UHC ppo private group plan insurance and the participating Mohs doctor under UHC insurance require another dermatology referral, which would mean I'd have to wait many months just for that and delay the surgery I desperately need.
Aflac - Aflac always
I’m going to be having a baby soon and wanted to know if I will get paid my short term disability leave if I am no longer working? I signed up for Aflac always which says it locks in the rate but I don’t want to continue paying for it if they are going to deny me.
Assurant - Assurant home insurance question- children’s accidents covered?
On July 31, I saw a steady ream of water coming out of my ceiling! Coming from the bathroom upstairs and even going down to my basement!
Long story short after checking though pipes, and doing my own investigation I cannot, CANNOT find a cause. Only thing I can maybe think of is one of the children flooding the bathroom and hasn’t told me.
I’m a mess, I’m a single mom of two hardly getting by and a giant mess and so many things destroyed I CANNOT pay for this out of pocket, will this be covered by my insurance if it was my child at fault who’s yet to claim blame?
TruStage - TruStage is confusing
State Farm - Parked car got hit by an amazon driver who then sped off. Use my insurance or trust amazon’s third party?
My car was parked and hit by an amazon delivery truck. They were delivering packages to either my apartment or one next door. He side swiped my car leaving the parking lot. Luckily a person saw and tried to flag him down and he sped off and drove off. The witness then reported it to my apartment management who got the video footage from their surveillance cameras.
I have the photos of the amazon truck hitting my car, a clear view of his license plate, a witness, and a police report (although the policeman said he couldnt read the state on the plate but i figured that out later and gave it to my insurance so it might not be in the report).
I called amazon and got two different reps who barely spoke english. I ended up calling my insurance (state farm) and they were great and said i should do a claim as typically this doesnt affect premiums.
After i initiated the claim last week, yesterday i finally got a call back from amazon who said a rep from ARC, their dedicated claims (third party?) company, would reach out next week. I researched ARC and all the reviews are awful. Everyone says they lowball you and take months to settle.
Should i just go through with the claim with state farm? I havent gotten any estimates yet. And my rep for state farm said this would likely not raise my rates. But im guessing the fix will be several thousand for a new fender and bumper and maybe wheel rim.
I havent had a claim in 10 years and felt good about that, but just wanna make sure im not doing this wrong. Thanks.
Progressive - Progressive Added An Unknown Person To My Policy
I got an email today regarding an upcoming Progressive insurance payment of $455. I spat my drink and went to look up my policy and to my surpriced, Progressive added a Random dude to my Policy. I have no idea who he is at all.
I called Progressive support line and they said they automatically added him because they "Think" he lived in my House. I was pissed and told them i did not consent or even call them to add him. They told me that i agree to their terms and condition bla bla. I got literally no heads up or any phone calls what so ever. They claimed the mailed me about the new change. I rarely check insurance docs as they are either bills i already paid or policy info. To make it worse, this dude has 2 Serious ticketsand an at fault accident.
I been a loyal member for over a decade. 0 accidents, 0 tickets. They told me to call them on Monday to fix this "easy" mistake. I was gonna wait till Monday but i couldn't let this mistake fly so i cancelled my policy. I drive my car like once every few months anyways.
auto insurance company - At Fault vs No Fault
I had to file a claim with my automobile insurance company due to 4k worth of damage to my vehicle when I hit a MASSIVE pothole. The pothole looked more like a huge chunk of cement that got wedged out of the lane, possibly by a snowplow. It was the tail end of a decent snowstorm and this hole was unavoidable. Why? I was surrounded by vehicles and to swerve either way or stop short would have resulted in something far worse. I attempted to straddle the hole but it was too wide. After having my interview with my claims examiner she told me she felt strongly that she could get her boss to sign off on my claim as a no fault. she called bck and told me it wa an at fault and wouldn't budge. She read me the typical language that I should be aware of my surroundings and more cognizant as to the road conditions before me. The conversation went nowhere. They paid the claim at least.
My question: how could they call it at fault given the circumstances? They made this decision without ever even seeing a picture of the pothole, which proves its width? I am now trying to get the item removed via lexis/nexis. How much might this save me if it were remove?
