My insurance company - Dirt Bike accident
My son was hanging out with his girlfriend’s family when her dad pulled out a couple of dirt bikes and offered to let them drive around the block on them. No helmets, no licenses, bikes aren’t registered or even road worthy.
My son is 15 with a learners permit. It was 8pm, dark, and the bikes had no headlamps. Long story short, my son ended up running into a car, causing $7K in damages and losing part of a toe in the process.
My insurance company will not cover this because it was outside the scope of the coverage provided for the learners permit. The driver is threatening a lawsuit.
I’m angry at the girlfriend’s father. I would have never allowed him to get on that bike if I had known about it. I knew the consequences if something like this happened. In addition, the father apparently verbally told the driver he would cover the damages but he hasn’t returned my call.
Can the driver sue me? Shouldn’t she just file with her insurance company for uninsured/under insured motorist coverage?
the other person's insurance company - Is it wierd for the person at fault to have like a zillion different adjusters?
Just like it sounds. I was involved in an accident a month ago. Other person was declared fault. My insurance is handling it well. Unfort, every time the at fault persons insurance calls me and leaves a message, it’s a different adjustor? I’m curious to why that is. I only have 2 from my own insurance calling me, the regular adjustor and the person above him just in case we have more questions or he can’t answer a question himself. I just think it’s wierd that the other insurance company has tons of adjusters and it is annoying. Don’t know how they don’t miscommunication with one another. I honestly tell the other place to talk with my adjustor.
TD Insurance - (Ontario) Does auto insurance cover wheelchairs?
My wife was in a single vehicle collision. Broke her ankle and cannot walk. I am looking into renting her a wheelchair but the TD insurance adjuster is being evasive. Before I go all in on this, I am looking for the opinions of people here.
Would her wheelchair be covered by TD insurance?
Nationwide Pet Insurance - Pet Insurance Recommendations
I've had Nationwide Pet Insurance for the past four years and up until recently they have been great. Recently my dog had a bladder infection and they paid out for that with no problem. We were told she needed to be seen again in two weeks for a follow up urinalysis and culture. However last week she started having difficulty urinating, called the vet and they wanted her to go back on the antibiotic for another week. I submitted another claim for the antibiotic and Nationwide only issued a quarter of the amount. I called them and they said we hit the annual limit they will pay out for a bladder infection, anything else they'll still pay, but this they won't until the policy renews next year. This was the first I was learning this, likely because we've never had the same issue go over the limit. As mentioned the vet wanted a follow up urinalysis and culture to be sure it was cleared up and they won't pay it. UTIs tend to be common in female dogs, so it seems absurd. We had the follow up yesterday and upon talking to the doctor, they used to recommend Nationwide frequently to pet parents, but not anymore and also said Nationwide has been dropping a lot of pet insurance customers lately and that it's seeming like they are trying to get out of pet insurance. They gave me some brochures for several different options they recommend and from what I'm finding Nationwide is the only one that caps limits on diagnoses. So I'm looking at changing providers and wanted to see what others recommend.
I'm considering the following:

\-Figo (through Costco)
\-MetLife
\-Lemonade
\-Pumpkin
\-Embrace
My auto/renters insurance company does offer plans with ASPCA pet insurance and I believe Spot. I talked with them for some time the other day and I'm leaning towards going with them. They also offer a 10% discount because of my insurance. As for MetLife, my vision plan is with them and they've been amazing, but don't know if that necessarily means their pet plans will be as good. Also Costco is offering 15% off for members for Figo.
Fetch was recommended by the vet, but their prices were outrageous. I also had Pet's Best the first year of my dog's life prior to Nationwide and was not impressed by them.

Prudential Life Insurance - I need to vent (prudential life insurance)
My stepdad passed away mid march, he told me years ago if anything ever happened to him that he had life insurance. The past week ive been trying to figure out his policy number to get more information regarding all of this. I still don’t know his policy # but now have a claim number and they have emailed a document that I need to sign. In order to access those documents I need a “code” which is the date of birth/date of death, unfortunately the first agent got the date of death wrong so I got locked out, they had to resend it again. Today I finally receive the email again, I STILL cannot access it because they keep putting in the wrong date.
home insurance company - Legal recourse against insurance company?

Hello! I recently purchased my first home here in a coastal city in the state of Texas. As all of us on the gulf coast know, I am required by my mortgage lender to carry a windstorm policy for protection during hurricane season. This policy was set up by my home insurance company, and therein lies my issue. The home insurance company filed incorrect paperwork which inaccurately qualified my home for windstorm coverage and additionally inaccurately qualified my home for the mortgage company to lend to me. Can I (or the mortgage lender) file suit against the insurance company for this error?
Edit: apologies for leaving out important context. The Texas windstorm agency has informed me that my policy will be discontinued in April if I do not provide the original paperwork for the property from 1988. (The paperwork was not completed in 88 despite insurance claiming it was) And if I cannot provide the paperwork I will be charged a 15% addendum to the premium in order to maintain my coverage.
TD Insurance - Could I possibly be reimbursed for the deductible I paid, since I was not at fault in the accident?

Following a car accident that was not my fault, my vehicle was totaled. My insurance provider, TD Insurance, paid off the car loan, and during the process, the agent proposed deducting my deductible from their payment to the finance company, with the understanding that they would later recover this amount from the other party's insurance. However, almost six months have passed, and I have yet to receive the deductible reimbursement. When I inquired, the TD agent explained that they have had difficulty contacting the other insurance company, citing a recent instance where they were on hold for over an hour without success. As this is my first experience with such a situation, I would appreciate guidance on how to proceed.
homeowners insurance - Condo water leak question
Very long story short, condo had a water leak 4 months ago. My homeowners insurance says that based on the HOA bylaws, the HOA is responsible for the damage. HOA is saying the opposite. So I’m at a stalemate. What do I do? I’m assuming an attorney is my next step but who pays those legal fees if I win? Condo is in South Carolina if that matters.
To make it more complicated, my insurance sent in water mitigation contractors that completely ripped my kitchen out. They did this before asking me for a copy of the HOA policy and determining they’re not responsible for yet it was their contractor that came in. Now I have no kitchen and both parties saying they’re not responsible. Ugh.
Tesla Insurance - Car insurance claim - Shop not providing estimate/quote for aftermarket items until repair is completed?
I am going through Tesla insurance for my Model Y. I had a few aftermarket parts and vinyl wrap that needs to be replaced as part of the repair.
The quote/check for the repair does not include just three items and the shop is saying that they will submit a separate claim/payment for that item after everything else is repaired and done.
Additionally, they are saying that after all of that, I need to go get a quote for the wrap and submit that separately on my own to see if Tesla will reimburse me for it.
Anyone have any insight on this? At this point, it has taken me several months to even get a reply back from the shop, I almost want to just ask for a check and get it done elsewhere or figure it out on my own. The only issue is the check was sent to the shop as a two person check, so I almost feel like I will be stuck with this shop.
Progressive Insurance - Progressive Insurance Question
Hey everyone,
I had a question regarding auto insurance with Progressive. They sent me a memo via email and asked me to call them about folks under the same roof as me not under my insurance. I called them and explained that I declined coverage for all my family members under my roof, for the have their own insurance. They said I still need to "pay" to have them declined under my coverage. I asked the girl over the phone why I need to pay to decline them coverage on my policy. She said it's in case they're passengers.
So let me get this straight, they want me to pay $93+ to state all my parents and siblings are declined on my policy? Even though NO ONE drives my vehicle. Is this legal? They said they're mailing me a document via mail for me to sign and get back to them to continue coverage.
