Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.

Healthy Paws - No increase for pet insurance
With all the posts regarding Healthy Paws rate increase I was worried about my renewal. I am happy to saw that I just received it and it has not increased. It is staying the same at the moment. However, I will wait to see because a couple years ago there was a discrepancy and in August they sent me a new notice increasing me by $20.
Fingers crossed that does not happen again. I was expecting a huge increase living in NYC.
Healthy Paws Insurance - Healthy Paws Petition of Opposition
Over the last two years my Healthy Paws Insurance premiums have gone up a total of 81%, which has forced me to remove one of pets off of my policy to make it more affordable. One of my pets is a senior, like many of the posts I'm reading here, and he has a heart condition forcing us into daily medical management per his most recent Echocardiogram. Like most of us who are appalled at our premium increases as of late for our senior kiddos, I am proposing we all sign a Petition of Opposite which will require your Name, the state of residency and your current or cancelled policy number. I will be posting this on a few sites in hopes to round up all those who feel their pets and their pockets have been treated unfairly. If anyone would like to recommend the best way to go about collecting this information, please relay that in this post.
Thank you for your time,
a fellow pet parent!
PetsBest - PetsBest Increase, Anything I Can Do?
I knew this was coming from seeing it happen to others but I got my policy renewal notice and our annual cost went from $347 to $505. I know this is far from the worst increase but it is still annoying. He hasn’t had a claim since 2023 and is only 4 years old. Is there anything I can do or say to them that might get this lowered a bit? I worry what his premium will look like a few years from now if they continue with increases at this level.
I also am bringing home a puppy next month and have been going back and forth about insuring them through PetsBest or trying something new like AKC or Trupanion. Any thoughts on that?
Metlife Pet Insurance - Metlife Pet Insurance - change of address
Just a little PSA for people who weren't aware, when you move you may lose access to your old policy. I've had my policy for 2 years and in that time one of my cats turned 15. because I'm moving, they are charging me a deductible again and also won't cover my cat on the same plan anymore due to age. I'm going from 80% coverage on an unlimited amount to a cap of $2,500. in a HCOL area.
I'm obviously devastated but just wanted to share. might have chosen a different place to live if I'd known how screwed I would be.
Pets Best - Pets best. I am very angry
So this may slightly be my fault but I need to vent and need options. I have had pets best for 2 years. My golden retriever blew her ACL and I took her to a surgeon and they confirmed it. The entire process took 5 months. I called pets best to see how to proceed, they said to pay the bill and then send everything to them. So I did.
They just came back and said that they will not reimburse me because I don’t wait 6 months to have the surgery. WTF!!! and why would you not tell me when I called to ask how to proceed?!?
Am I just out of luck? Or do you think that this is worth fighting? I am out $7k now. This is why I had pet insurance in the first place!!!
Trupanion - Ridiculous Trupanion Rate Increases
I've had two rate increases in a year's time, increasing in total about 64%. Has calling to reduce helped anyone? This is honestly crazy, and their vague emails with arbitrary reasoning is incredibly frustrating.

Fetch - Fetch crazy price increase: would you recommend changing insurance and if so, any company recommendations?
Hi everyone. I have a 6 year old terrier mix that's been insured with Fetch since I adopted him at 5 months old. He's had 4 claims all under $200 in all these years. 2 for ear issues, 1 for diarrhea and 1 for a scrape on his leg. No claims in the Iast two years. I started paying $35 / month and now they want to increase my premium from $71 to $117 which is absolutely crazy!
I currently have no annual limit with a 90% coverage and $250 deductible. I have no problem bringing down the annual limit to 20-25k, 80% coverage and a higher deductible to decrease my rate but my concern is if he's only 6 right now and Fetch is jacking up prices like this, even if I reduce coverage I'm afraid I'll end up with a crazy premium in just a couple of years! Also, I had another dog insured by them and we spent 25k with her last year. She unfortunately passed away but now I wonder if that is playing a role with how much they are increasing my terrier mix rate since they were both under the same account (I read someone here in Reddit had something like this happening with Fetch).
I'd love to hear experiences of people switching insurance specially in regards to coverage of pre existing conditions and also, if anyone has recommendations of other insurance companies I'd love to hear your experience too (especially in regards to rate increases and claims). Thank you!
Embrace - Quality of Embrace?
Hi guys,
I used to have Healthy Paws for my cat but wasn’t happy with the service or price, so I switched to Embrace about 3-4 years ago. My cat is now 5 and her current coverage is: $5K annual limit, $1K deductible, and 80% reimbursement.
Recently, they denied a claim for a mass removal on her nose, citing a 2022 note about a mass on her thigh—which my vet believed was just a mild reaction to a vaccine that was administered the week prior reaction that resolved on its own (EXACT same location as the vaccine). I’ve submitted a request to review the claim and re-evaluate that pre-existing condition. This is the first time I've had to disagree with their assesment of the bill, and not sure how that will go. But now knowing that they won't cover any masses (including cancer) because of this makes me anxious.
This made me reconsider Embrace, what pet insurance do you all use, what’s your coverage like, and how much do you pay monthly? Any recommendations for an insurance that would cover future masses (including cancer) even though she had a "mass" in 2022 that was most likely just a reaction to a vaccine lol.
Pets Best - If your Pets Best claims are being denied
I’ve received a series of new and confusing EOBs denying claims I usually had had no problem getting approved quickly before. Pets Best informed me on the phone that they have a new automated system that some claims get filtered into that is causing some claims to be incorrectly denied. Wanted to update and post here because their customer service truly is so helpful and kind, and if you call them they will fix your issues by flagging your denials for manual review.
Nationwide - Insurance just jumped from 500/year to 950/year for my 5 year old goldendoodle. Is it worth it?
Trying to figure out how much longer I should justify purchasing insurance for my goldendoodle. He is very healthy, not overweight. But I do have some pricey allergy treatments for him a couple times a year, but doubling his insurance is crazy! Any recommendations? \*\*Nationwide pet insurance\*\*
