Unum - Unum dental - no one seems to know about this PPO plan?
So my employer recently enrolled us in the Unum dental PPO plan. I've been calling offices near me and no one seems to know what insurance plan this is. Unum confirmed with me over the phone these offices are in network and every single one of them are saying they don't accept the insurance because they haven't heard of it. My insurance card also doesn't mention DenteMax or Connection Dental, so it's through Unum itself.
Blue Cross Blue Shield - Screening mri breasts
I just had my first mammogram (just turned 40).
My breast are extremely dense.
Otherwise, normal/negative mammogram.
I did the ABUS and now they want me to come back for additional ultrasound due to artifact versus true mass.
At this point, I don’t really trust the ultrasound because of how dense my breasts are.
The ultrasound lady kinda laughed at how white the screen was after she did the imaging.
So here is my question: has anyone with extremely dense breasts ever gotten a screening mri of breast covered for extremely dense breasts?
Not really counting on being able to do it as a screening test at this point because I’m probably now only able to diagnostic tests due to the ABUS findings. Asking for future testing mostly.
I called BCBS and they were useless. I asked “if I have extremely dense breasts and my doctor puts that as the ICD:10 for a screening mri of breast will it be covered?” It lists screening mri of breasts as covered on my EOB. The lady on the phone couldn’t answer me.
Appreciate any insight. Thank you!
GEICO - how do I bundle home + auto + umbrella and not overpay
CA folks — need some insurance wisdom.
New home in contract → current home becomes secondary. 2 autos + want an umbrella policy. Been with GEICO forever but they keep hiking rates.
What’s the smartest way to shop & compare bundled quotes for all of this in California’s nightmare insurance market? Any go-to brokers or tools you recommend?
Progressive - Prior Resident added to my policy, how to remove
For context, the state is Maryland
I live in a rental house and there is a prior resident named Stacy D. (Hiding her last name for privacy). I don’t know this person, other than occasionally getting some of her mail in our mailbox, which leads me to assume she is a prior resident at this unit.
This morning, i had new policy documents added to my Progressive policy. They added Stacy D. to my policy as an insured driver, and my rate increased from $140 a month to $580 a month. I also lost some of my discounts, like safe driving discount, because Stacy D. has apparently been in two at fault accidents in the past year.
Now I called progressive to remove this person from my policy, and their underwriting says that she can’t be removed unless i have proof of address showing that she doesn’t live here.
A few questions:
1. How do i prove that someone (a stranger) doesn’t live here? I don’t have any contact info for her or any way to get her current address. I don’t know this person or have any knowledge about her other than occasionally getting junk mail that is addressed for her.
2. Is there a possibility of me getting any discounts (such as safe driving discount) added back to my account, if I am able to remove this person?
3. Because i live in a rental unit, are there any other steps I can take to prevent prior residents from being added to my policy in the future?
Vodafone - BPO for Vodafone
Hi
Few years ago I had Vodafone broadband which was absolute shite, i had numerous engineers out to try fix the issue but they didn't fix it so I decided to cancel the direct debit and go elsewhere.
I've been paying the amount back to BPO on a payment plan which isn't long off done ive made my own payment notes as I don't trust these people.
Today I've opened a letter from BPO who say Vodafone has passed them the debt and I need to contact them to make repayments, the amount is also higher to what I had left
What annoys me I've been paying these clowns for over 11 months and after checking my standing orders it shows it's still set up and is being paid every month the reference number is the same on my standing order to what's on the letter today
What do I do ignore them or email them ?

Robinhood - Robinhood - possibility of wrongly linked IBAN to my account
Hello!
I was using robinhood app for crypto and everything was nice and smooth and I did not have any problems with transferring money from my account. I was living happily with the information that I can withdraw only money to the same account I was transferring it from. And there is the problem, I wanted to withdraw money to my account and after 2 months it's still not on my account.
I'm dealing with their support for those 2 months, I wanted to see full confirmation of the transaction, with the full IBAN number and they can't provide it "for security reasons". Also I have a suspicion the bank account linked to my account was wrong, but I didn't double check it before trying to withdraw the cash.
I have every single proof for every transaction coming from my account, it's exactly the same as seen on the app, I have proof there is yet nothing on my bank account. And I'm just out of ideas on how to make them solve things.
Is there anything I can do to make them handle this fastly or at least to make them send me the confirmation?
Thank you, every single help will be appreciated!
FBFS - Should I send a letter of intent or file a lawsuit against prior home insurance company?
Looking for advice on dealing with an insurance dispute with prior insurance company.
In July 2023, a hailstorm damaged my home’s Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) that had rolled roofing on them. Company initially agreed the panels needed replacement because rolled roofing couldn’t be reapplied per manufacturer installation guidelines. They first classified it under Ordinance or Law (ORD) coverage.
Later, they changed their stance, saying it wasn’t ORD, but still wouldn’t move it under Dwelling Coverage. They paid $5k but refused to pay the remaining $8,606 for full replacement.
Key points:
• Manufacturer guidelines require panels to be clean and debris-free before rolled roofing can be reinstalled — which wasn’t the case after removal.
• During demo, water intrusion was found. FBFS says they don’t cover “water seepage,” but there’s no proof it existed pre-storm.
• Multiple adjusters were involved. Insurance company hasn’t provided their “expert” who allegedly inspected the panels.
• Delays in their claim process (over 1.5 years) worsened the damage.
At this point, I’m debating whether to send a letter of intent (basically putting them on notice before litigation) to try and get the $8,606 paid, or just go straight to filing a lawsuit for breach of contract/bad faith.
The whole panels had to be replaced because rolled roofing couldn't be reinstalled and needing to get the roof back to pre storm condition. The water intrusion found 1.5 years later has nothing really to do with the initial insurance coverage in my opinion.
Has anyone dealt with this or a similar situation? Did sending a letter of intent work, or did you have to sue to get results? Will they say fine okay it'll cost us more if we do get sued even if we win and decide to pay the $8606 instead?
Next, even though they closed the claim, I'm filling another complaint with the states department of insurance.
Bristol West - Need help regarding insurance
Edit: Total amount that was for the insurance that month was like $400 something. I think around $430. Not sure if that has something to do with it
Hey so I had gotten my car back a couple of months ago. To put it short, for some dumbass reason my ass didn't think I would need insurance to take the car off the lot and didn't factor that into it, as the last time I gotten a car I went to a shady shitty dealership which let me drive off with just liability. So I had set myself up with Bristol West. Thing is I did not have the money for the insurance but it went through because I did an option that would collect over a few days. It showed as active for me to collect my car. Anyways immediately like a day or two later, I decide to go with Progressive which was much cheaper and canceled my plan with Bristol by calling them. (I used Bristol to pick up my car but then changed it to Progressive and they took that) After it got canceled I got some mail saying that I owe $110.
Now question. I do know that say if you cancel mid-cycle or early they give like a "refund" or don't make you pay the whole amount. My question is, does $110 seem right for literally using them for about a day or so. Keep in mind they couldn't even charge me but it showed my acc as active. Active enough to try and get my car. Does anyone have any experience with this? How do they decide how much to charge you when you cancel, Does it matter when you cancel or they just give you a rate which you have to pay. I just realized that they sent it to debt collections and want it.
Beyond Finance - Beyond Finance- BoA suing
I wish I had corn to Reddit in June of 2023 before signing on with BF but I didn’t. So here we are. My last creditor still “in negotiations” is Bank of America and i just received a hand delivered summons today. My enrolled debt for them with BF is $28k and They are suing me for $31k+. I’m waiting for the legal team contracted under BF to write up the response to the summons and the finance team to continue towards a settlement but I am panicking. I read that 90% of the suits BoA peruses goes to default judgement bc the defendant doesn’t answer.
Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated because I obviously cannot afford $31k….
Northwestern Mutual - Cancel or hold NWM Adjustable CompLife policies?
In my naïve early 20s (single and no kids) I bought into a NWM adjustable CompLife policy. Then expanded coverage a few years later at the advise of my “advisor”. I haven’t thought much about it until now, when my new husband and I were looking at our cash flow.
I’m now feeling that I need to stop my donations to NWM and be smarter with my investments. I’m not maxing out other retirement options (ROTH, 401), and I feel that would better serve our future.
Here’s what I’ve got going on:
CompLife policy #1
Started: 09/2016
Annualized premium: $1242.72
(Monthly premium: $103.5)
Payments since sept 2016: $102
Total paid: $10,557
Net accumulated value: $7,244
CompLife policy #2
Started: 06/2019
Annualized premium: $1799.40
(Monthly premium: 149.95)
Payments since June 2019: 69
Total paid: $10,346
Net accumulated value: $7,068
Total benefit: $500,000
Should I cash this out? Roll it into something else? I don’t feel like NWM has my best interests at heart and I don’t want to be throwing money at an inefficient scheme. TIA
