They were great a first but lately it’s been seeming like anything they can do to reimburse me less they have been doing. Some initial promises that were made to me have not been kept regarding reimbursement for flee, tick, and heartworm medication also. I am going to be looking at different companies for pet insurance.

My time over the last four years with companion of overalla positive experience. The couple of times I had to file claims it was very prompt payment. One of the negatives was usually a $20-$30 increase per year per pet, which is a lot higher than other pet insurance companies that I’ve worked with. The reason I’m leaving the two star review is because after I canceled I got a call the next day from an extremely rude trupanion lady who berated me while I was at work, while seeing patients at my medical clinic. She kept telling me that I was making a mistake by going to my Costco pet insurance and she was absolutely awful to me. I tried to kindly diffuse this situation and explained to her that people choose different insurance providers every day and that I’m just making a better choice for my life and my pets. She did not seem to understand that as she kept going, and I had to interrupt her again And explained to her that If she doesn’t need any more information for me to cancel that, I’m going to hang up with her because I’m not going to sit and listen to her condescending attitude about switching insurance providers. She then proceeded to go on about an article that I veterinarian wrote about how their insurance is superior to others. She said that there was no bias. I find that very hard to believe as this veterinarian was most likely paid to write the article for their company, which would be biased.
Spot - I expected better reimbursement…
I expected better reimbursement coverage for the routine exams ands meds that ensure that our pets will stay healthy.

Horrible experience, bad customer service, they tell you its possible to cancel, its not, cannot delete card, they refuse to cancel. such a SCAM!

Ok comes process but blanks left and have to call to check. Does not cover heart worm meds on med plan.
Embrace - Absolutely THE worst
Absolutely THE worst. We have been loyal customers for over 9 years. I have paid over $6000 in premiums. Never missed a payment. Always on time. Even after our monthly payments have tripled, I stayed. I have gotten ONE claim back for $46. That is it. When I signed up in 2015, they had a program where your deductible decreased if you didn't have any claims. Mine was down to $100. They have now decided to just get rid of that. NO notice. No email. No letter. No common courtesy. Nothing. There was no compensation. No trade off benefit. Just a "oh well" from them. We stayed and paid the increased premiums because of this benefit and they stripped us of it for no reason and no notice. Absolutely horrible company.
ASPCA - I have been denied coverage for my…
I have been denied coverage for my ninemonth old golden retriever because in August she had Giardia, which caused diarrhea, and she was treated for that. Then in October, she had diarrhea again and it was because of a food allergy. She was treated for that, and we have solved the problem. The reason they give for not covering this is that they claim her diarrhea is a pre-existing condition. I don’t understand how this is a pre-existing condition when it is too completely different situations.
I also submitted a claim for conjunctivitis which was cured, and there has been absolutely no response to that. The claim was submitted in October. I am very unhappy with this insurance. Please don’t tell me to call the number because I have spent hours on the phone with that number to no avail

Fetch - VERY POOR CANCELLATION OPTIONS
I was assured this policy would NOT auto-renew by the MO Humane Society. It did auto-renew. I emailed them to have it cancelled. No response. Two days later I FINALLY found a phone # to call as you CANNOT CANCEL ONLINE. After being sales-pitched nearly to death, the rep finally cancelled the plan, but not back to the date I emailed. Will see how soon my partial refund is given.

Delay while they find a reason to deny . I cancelled one of my pets insurance already because he now has kidney decease completely new this year. 2 of the symptoms are vomiting and diarrra which they use as a pre existing condition. Completely outraged by this because lots of different conditions have diarrrah and vomiting.
