Trupanion - New Policy
I had my State Farm Insurance Agent setup my account based on the quote they provided me. The information that was setup on the website was incorrect, and had to be corrected. They setup the account on the 13th of the month and today is the 17th and the information on the site has still not been setup correctly. I have followed up with Trupanion three times to get all of the corrections updated and they said it would take about 5 days to get all of the corrections done.
ASPCA - BE AWARE of hidden costs and exclusions!…
While ASPCA has created a very sleek and user-friendly interface for submitting and tracking a claim, I have found a NUMBER of deficiencies in their up front information and back-end service. While having a rep answer the phone quickly and having access to a kind veterinary nurse on the end of a telehealth line are all very helpful as a consumer - I was pretty floored to find that neutering and spaying aren't covered under their basic preventative care plan...the hard way. If you hope to be reimbursed for this VERY COMMON procedure, you MUST select their PRIME care package, in order to have any reimbursement for those costs. Since ASPCA did a poor job of making this information clear up front, I'm hoping this review saves someone else the trouble I've gone through. You have to read through all of the itemized treatments/procedures to see that it's not covered, which wasn't apparent, nor that there was even an upgraded insurance package available.
Embrace - Trouble with paying out for prescription cat food
Trouble getting reimbursed for my cat's prescription food.
Spot - Preventative Puppy Poo
I purchase a plan including a puppy prevention package that was to pay out a set amount for certain things. Example: $25 for dewormer $50 for a puppy wellness exam $25 for a bordetella shot etc. Twice I submitted receipts showing my puppy was given a dewormer and Spot Insurance did not reimburse me the $25. Dates are December 12,2024 and January 3,2025.
Pets Best - I did a lot of research on pet…
I did a lot of research on pet insurance companies before I chose Pet's. Best, I have to say I was a bit disappointed at the length of time it took to process my claim. I submitted my claim January 5th and My reimbursement didn't come until January 13th. I believe. Small is the reimbursement was it took an awful lot of time when it should have taken A few days
Trupanion - Trap
They want your money but don’t want to pay out anything, it honestly feels like a scam. As soon as a better option becomes available in the market, I encourage everyone to switch.
Fetch - Payment system and claim status
1. It is frustrating to use your chat system as it was not getting me anyware. Due to circumstances with regard to using my debit card, I wish to make payments via e-checks which is more secure; and
2. I submitted a claim (2nd time) on December 16 and I have heard anything as to the status.
The virtual chat system is not totally appropriate
Pets Best - I'm canceling this insurance
I'm canceling this insurance. I spend $95 per month and visit the vet yearly. This years' vet visit with shots and ear issue cost was almost $500. Pets Best gave me $0 reimbursement.
Embrace - NOT worth your money.
I am awarding Embrace this low review because of the extremely dissatisfying experience I had with my first and only claim in several faithful years of paying $115 a month for my two dogs and cat. Long story short, our cat began vomiting bile several times a day for 48 hours and was not touching food or water and was acting lethargic. We had adopted her in March 2024 from an Animal Rescue center who had picked her up as a stray, gave her all her necessary vaccines and deemed her perfectly normal and healthy for adoption. She was not due to be seen for an exam until March 2025 for vaccine updates, so in the past 9 months we had no reason to take her in until now for an emergency visit. After several tests and X rays, the vet found no foreign objects inside her, and gave her rehydration treatment, antibiotics, pain medicine and some appetite enhancer to help her get back to normal. The total sum was nearly $1100. She was better within a couple days. I was under the impression that based on what Embrace advertises as what would be covered, that a freak illness that the cat suffered would at least be covered to some degree. Apparently, within the vague and long-winded fine print our faithful claims adjuster did her due diligence to the company to ensure we got coverage for as little as possible (0$), and decided that since our cat had not had a vet exam (apparently the rescue center doesn’t count) that this illness would not be covered because she was technically still in a “waiting period.” I personally cannot fathom why USAA recommends this business as an insurance company when it will reward a paying customer of several years with technicalities and red tape over a measly $1100. I immediately cancelled my policy, because frankly it makes more sense to save that money every month so I have it for any future emergency visit rather than pay this scam of a company $115 a month to just bury me in “legalese” again in the future. If you are currently using this insurance company or plan to, think before you buy. And at a minimum insist on speaking to a HUMAN BEING on the phone to explain to you how to ensure your pets are actually covered and what hidden technicalities are buried in the fine print, because they will surely Embrace your membership fee, but as soon as you ask for a tiny bit of coverage for an actual emergency visit they become stingy and unhelpful.
Embrace - Can't recommend
i had a really bad experience with them. they refused to cover my cat's procedure and treatment because of pre-existing conditions. I spent hours on phone with them, and provided signed documents by multiple veterinaries to contest the pre-existing condition that embrace invented. They finally changed their mind. Just for them to raise their prices by 50% the next year.
