Have an issue with your insurance?
Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.
State Farm - CA home insurance and trust
Thinking about moving my primary residence into a trust. However, I was grandfathered into a state farm home insurance very affordable for my location and I doubt I’ll be able to get my home insured since it’s now high fire risk since a map redraw.
I am also thinking about moving my home under a trust.
Does changing benefiacury of a home insurance incur a risk of losing my current policy (like separate underwriting is needed?)
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan - BCBS of Michigan but located in Northern Virginia
I'm starting a new job in a month. It's remote, and I live in southern Arlington, VA. The health insurance the company provides is Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, because it's a Michigan based hospital. My to-be manager (someone I know from a previous job) lives in Arizona and he said the pickings of doctors have been lacking due to it being BCBS of Michigan and he's in Arizona. I'm wondering if anyone has had similar experiences? Should I take the BCBS of Michigan health insurance (which doesn't cover anything birth control related so I'd have to get something to supplement that) and hope for good choices of doctors in Arlington, VA? Or go onto my husband's insurance with Kaiser Permanante even though it's more expensive?
California FAIR Plan - Paid CA Fair plan late
I paid my premium online on Aug 5, and they took the money. I have a receipt. I received a cancellation notice today saying I didn’t pay the premium. I looked and my insurance expired at 11:59 PM on Aug 4. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any guidance is welcome?
Blue Cross Blue Shield - Bloodwork got denied, $820. Code 002, “experimental”
My BCBS refused to pay any of my blood work. I was referred by my doctor to go to a specialist to get blood work done, over 6 months ago. Now I got this bill in the mail from Quest and found my EOB.
They coded it 002 as “we do not cover experimental or investigational procedures”
Ok…isn’t the entire point of blood work to investigate?
Anyway, should I call my insurance or the specialist to appeal the bill? Any advice? This has never happened to me before. Thank you!
State Farm - Go High or Go Low?
I have been a State Farm customer for almost 40 years. I recently was in my first serious automobile accident where the repair costs are around $25,000. State Farm has been hellish to work with and dragged even just the start of repairs out two months. It’s not over yet, but it’s pretty clear I’m gonna end up having to pay a pretty good chunk of that out-of-pocket.
The body shop tells me that most namebrand insurance companies are difficult to work with. He suggested one of the high-end brands like Chubb or Pure.
The more I think about it it seems like I could go with a low rate company and for that once every 25 year incident just pay for the repairs myself. As long as I have injuries and liability covered, it feels like I would come out even.
My question is this. Should I go with a different company that is more white glove service like Chubb? Or should I find some cut rate company where I at least know up front I’m going to have to pay out-of-pocket for an repairs like this but save money and headache in the long run? Or should I just stay in the middle with SF?
FYI, I do have good umbrella coverage too.
Healthy Paws - Healthy Paws Pet Insurance Review
I’ve been a loyal Healthy Paws customer for 13 and a half years—since the day I brought my puppy Bellah home. Over the years, I’ve paid thousands of dollars into this policy with the trust and belief that when the time came—especially in her final stages of life—Healthy Paws would be there for us.
Instead, with no prior notice, Bellah’s monthly premium has been raised from $250 to nearly $800. At nearly 14 years old, with limited time left, my dog is being priced out of her coverage when she needs it most.
I’ve called. I’ve waited. I’ve been hung up on. I’ve sat on hold for hours, only to speak to customer service reps who are either powerless or unwilling to help. Not a single person has shown any compassion or even attempted to work with me. I wasn’t expecting a miracle—but I did expect humanity.
Bellah is not just a pet—she is family. And now, in what should be her most peaceful time, she is being made into a financial burden. After over a decade of loyalty, this is the treatment we’ve received: silence, indifference, and a quadrupled premium.
Healthy Paws, this is not how we honor the animals who have given us their unconditional love. This is not dignity. This is not care. This is not right.
CalSavers - Roth IRA account appears to be compromised
I pay into a CalSavers account. I received an email five days ago saying: "per my request all correspondence will be sent to:" \[an email which is not mine\]. It looks like a scammer domain. I don't remember registering to access the account on the CalSavers website, though I may have during the enrollment process when I started the job. Either way, I can't access the account as it doesn't recognize the email I would have used.
Is it possible someone has stolen the money by transferring it out of my account? I don't imagine scammers would waste time as soon as they have access... I can't call CalSavers until their office opens tomorrow.
ManyPets - Odie unresponsive after ManyPets transfer
UPDATE: they finally replied and sent me another link to update payment + the portal access link. Unsure what I did.. I guess since payment was involved, they prioritised? Anyway now I can look at my plan, submit a claim, etc. And they said the Comms would improve in the coming weeks. Staying with them bec the premiums were the most affordable with them.
I've seen posts about odie this year but writing about my situation in case anyone has also faced it.
To the people who got transferred over - have you received your welcome email? My policy renewed on the 2nd of January, and I never received a welcome email.
I had to take my cat to the vet and got a 1k bill. There's no place to submit a claim. Nobody is replying to my emails.
And on top of that, I received an email today saying my payment didn't go through with a link to update - BUT THE LINK WAS EXPIRED!! The audacity to ask me for a payment when I have literally no info and no reply from this company.
Nobody picks up the phone. And if the payment doesn't go through, the policy will lapse and that will leave my cat without insurance which is soooo frustrating!!! Has everyone else gotten their account setup emails?? Or even received a response over email??
Their voicemail message says if you email multiple times it will delay the response even more so I'm scared to write them again and again. Advice??
Spot - I guess Spot is a good one
I got a cat in November and enrolled her under Spot, starting a plan at $17.87 / month.
I took her to the vet in December to check why this otherwise healthy cat had no interest in chewing food, and they said they said she had a bad case of FORL and they recommended removing the impacted teeth, which were most likely causing her pain.
I submitted two claims to Spot, one for the first visit in December and one for the expensive teeth removal surgery in February. For both, I only attached the vet invoices which included the vet medical notes.
Initially, both claims were rejected for lack of inclusive information about my cat's health, meaning the SOAP notes. I ended up finding and submitting the form that was given to me from the shelter when I got her, which only contained her vaccinations, record of spaying and a mention of medicine for diarrhea. I explained to Spot that was all I had, and no one knew anything about my cat's health in her life prior to the shelter.
Just a few days later, I got notified that they had approved both claims reimbursing me $21 out of the $78 visit and $288 out of the $697 surgery.
**That means that my total annual billing for the insurance is $214 ($17.87 x 12) and by March alone I have already been reimbursed $309. I'll take it.**

Robinhood - Robinhood - possibility of wrongly linked IBAN to my account
Hello!
I was using robinhood app for crypto and everything was nice and smooth and I did not have any problems with transferring money from my account. I was living happily with the information that I can withdraw only money to the same account I was transferring it from. And there is the problem, I wanted to withdraw money to my account and after 2 months it's still not on my account.
I'm dealing with their support for those 2 months, I wanted to see full confirmation of the transaction, with the full IBAN number and they can't provide it "for security reasons". Also I have a suspicion the bank account linked to my account was wrong, but I didn't double check it before trying to withdraw the cash.
I have every single proof for every transaction coming from my account, it's exactly the same as seen on the app, I have proof there is yet nothing on my bank account. And I'm just out of ideas on how to make them solve things.
Is there anything I can do to make them handle this fastly or at least to make them send me the confirmation?
Thank you, every single help will be appreciated!
